Text:    Revelation 4:1 - 5:14

Sermon in a prayer:  He created the world; we mortgaged it to sin; and He bought it back with His own blood—that is redemption. 

Three questions each of us should ask from this keystone passage of the Book of Revelation—

#1  Can you grasp God's absolute transcendence and holiness?—Revelation 4:1-11.

     The four living creatures—Isaiah 6:1-5.

#2  Can you identify with John's hunger for redemption?—Revelation 5:1-4.

     The seven-sealed scroll—Jeremiah 32:14.

#3  Can you surrender your heart to thanksgiving and praise for the love that inspired the sacrifice of Jesus Christ?—Revelation 2:12-17.

     The reason for rejoicing—Daniel 7:13-14.
