Sermon in a prayer:  No real spiritual advancement ever happens apart from prayer.                                                                                                                                            

Two skills you need in your prayer toolbox—

#1  Disciplined Prayer—Nehemiah 1:4-11.

Disciplined prayer. . .

• Is one of many rhythmic spiritual disciplines—verse 4.

• Includes adoration—verse 5.

• Inspires self-examination and confession—verses 6-7.

• Intercedes specifically—verses 8-11.

#2  Spontaneous Prayer—Nehemiah 2:1-10.

In a time of crisis, your brain will naturally want to seek solutions.  You must also train it to seek the face and the hand of God (Philippians 4:6-7).
