Sermon in a prayer:  Things are designed to serve people and not vice versa.  

Two thought-provoking questions that can help keep things in the proper place in your life—

#1  What good is any life if it is full of things but empty with regard to people?—       Nehemiah 11:1-2. 

#2  Is it wrong to enjoy things?—Nehemiah 12:27-30, 43.

       But. . . 

• We must remember that God owns the things we enjoy and we should always be thankful to Him for them—Psalm 24:1; Nehemiah 11:27-43.

• We should always be open to sacrificing the things we enjoy for the benefit of those in need or the advancement of God's work as He leads us—I John 3:17; Nehemiah 12:44-47.
