Sermon in a prayer:  "Open your eyes. . ."

                                                Jesus in John 4:35 concerning the spiritual needs of the world 

Three tragic ways in which the church today tends to be blind with regard to the Great Commission—

#1  The Person of the Great Commission—we fail to see that obeying it is a personal response to Our Savior and Lord—verses 16-18. 

#2  The Process of the Great Commission—we short-change His strategy—verses 19-20a.

      According to Jesus, making disciples involves three vital actions:

• Go (emphatic)

• Baptize

• Teach

.      

#3  The Promise of the Great Commission—we forget that He promises to empower our efforts when we respond in faith in this area—verse 20b.
