Text:  Jude 1-25  

Sermon in a sentence:  The church is not always a safe place.

Two questions the Book of Jude helpfully answers—

I.  What does DYSFUNCTIONAL Christianity look like?—Jude 1-19.

1. It denies or minimizes Jesus—verse 4.

2. It acts with little fear of divine judgment—verses 5-7.

3. It has no respect for spiritual realities—verses 8-10.

4. It principally pursues self-gratification and self-enrichment—verses 11-15.

5. It manifests the works of the flesh and not the fruit of the Spirit—verses 16-19.

II.  What does HEALTHY Christianity look like?—Jude 20-25.                       

1. It stays in love with God through spiritual disciplines—verses 20-21.

2. It patiently and passionately pursues people in spiritual peril—verses 22-23.

3. It trusts God, and God alone, to continue and complete His work in us—verses 24-25.
